The Language Of Meetings Part 1

Meetings are a central part of professional life, and having the right language makes a real difference. This lesson covers the essential vocabulary for meeting situations: how to refer to the people in a meeting, the documents involved, and the actions that happen from opening to close. You will learn words like postpone, proposal, action items, minutes, and AOB, all in realistic meeting contexts.

The grammar focus is the first and second conditional. The first conditional lets you talk about real, likely outcomes: what will happen if something goes ahead. The second conditional lets you discuss imaginary or hypothetical scenarios: what would happen if things were different. Both structures come up naturally in meetings, from planning what to do next to imagining how things could be improved.
